What's On: April
An update on regular classes, a chance to join the Saturday morning class online, and a Tantra Workshop...
My loves,
As we firmly head into the longer and, hopefully, warmer days I thought I’d touch base to let you know what’s happening throughout the month of April.
As you may have noticed, the direction I’ve been gradually steering us in this year is one that is heavily influenced by Tantra. Our classes have been themed on its philosophical concepts, our meditation practices have been taken from texts which are more than 1,500 years old, and my writing has been anchored in Tantrik thought. I think it’s fair to say that its a tradition that I’m passionate about sharing with you all in as many different ways as I can!
Throughout April we will be continuing to explore Tantra in our regular weekly classes and you can also join me for a special workshop on Sunday 24th April where we will be diving a little deeper into the tradition and the practices.
Our Wednesday night class will continue to remain online and our Saturday mornings at Holford Village Hall will continue - although now the internet is back up and running there I can open the class up to anyone who would like to join in online too.
I hope to see you on the mat soon.
Much love

Tantra for Real Life: An Introductory Workshop
Sunday 24th April 10:00AM-12:00PM ~ Holford Village Hall
This 2 hour workshop is for yoga teachers, yoga practitioners, and spiritual seekers who wish to learn about and/or deepen their understanding and practice of Tantra, specifically Non-dual Shaiva Tantra (NST).
What you will gain is an introduction in the subtle yet extremely powerful practices of Tantrik Yoga which will assist you on your path of liberation. Liberation isn’t a concept reserved only for ‘enlightened beings’, it’s very real and achievable for all who seek to understand themselves better.
Our time together will be a journey of the following:
What Tantra is. And no, its not sex!
History, roots & philosophical view (darshana) of Shaiva Tantra
It’s relation to western Yoga. (Hint: It came first!)
Why it’s practices, although over 1,500 years old, are still timeless and relevant now
Fundamental awareness cultivation (similar to mindfulness) techniques and other subtle body practices that you can incorporate into daily life
A brief encounter with the Tantrik chakra systems (different from the commonly known western 7 chakra system) and the bindus
The practice of vikalpa-ksaya - dissolving mental constructs, including looking at how and why we form these narratives in the first place
Understanding the 5 Layered Self and how this map of reality is a tool for liberation
An explanation of where our practices have come from - which Tantra’s
Chanting, mantra, mudra, & movement (asana)
Access to the recordings and videos of the practices afterwards
This workshop will be a mixture of movement, discussion, and Tantrik meditation practices. There will be opportunity for you to ask plenty of questions but above all, experience the practices for yourself.
You will leave our time together with a profound understanding of what Tantrik Yoga is, a mini-directory of practices that you can continue to develop in your own time, and recommendations for further reading/study.
Venue: tbc
This is suitable for all, no prior yoga practice required.
Spaces will be limited to ensure an intimate session where attention can be given to everyone.
